Great Lakes Data Racks and Cabinets is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. Great Lakes is a customer focused global company that designs, builds, and supports IT infrastructure across the country and around the world.

Ultimately, you’ll design and develop functional and manufacturable products and solutions to meet our customer’s needs.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Develop 3D models and drawings for metal enclosures and sheet metal components utilizing Autodesk Inventor software.
- Work with inside sales, technical support, and product development to design products and solutions to meet customer needs and expectations.
- Work with manufacturing and other vendors to provide accurate models and drawings accommodating for manufacturing capabilities.
- Work with marketing and other teams to create and develop instructions and other support documentation for standard and custom products.
- Identify, report, and assist in the resolution of manufacturing challenges.
- Problem solve and in some instances direct and assist in hands on resolutions to physical product and projects.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLES REQUIRED:
- 2 year associates degree or equivalent work experience
- 3D Modeling experience, Inventor Preferred
- Demonstrated communication skills
- Ability to design for manufacture using laser, punch press, press brake, welding and powder coating operations.
