VertivTM Security Panel System

VertivTM Security Panel System

The Security Panel System consists of a series of aluminum panels, steel posts, and doors that create an enclosed space—big or small—that help data centers meet multiple industry and regulatory standards, including PCI DSS, HIPAA, and FISMA.

Strategic Deployment: Internal Infrastructure Solutions

Customer Separation

Tenant space in this colocation facility is separated to ensure cabinets and equipment remain secure within the shared data center. Intelligent access control provides the tenant with a system to monitor and manage who has access to the space—especially useful when the tenant does not visit the colo facility regularly.

Mechanical Infrastructure

Power distribution units deployed on the data center floor of a colocation facility are isolated from cabinets—as recommended by BICSI in top-tier hosting facilities. PDUs, CRAC units and other mechanical infrastructure that are imperative to uptime are safeguarded from tenants and can only be accessed by authorized employees of the colo facility.

Expandable IDF Closet

A dedicated telecommunications closet is built on the open warehouse floor which proved to be the best location for the intermediate distribution frame (IDF) at this facility. The modular build-out of the system will allow the size of the closet to grow as the IDF grows with the expansion of the facility. Intelligent access control prevents unauthorized access to the closet.

Equipment Segregation

Storage and network equipment, managed by different individuals at this Fortune 100 company, are separated by a custom (in color and material) security panel system. The company’s risk management team require the separation so that ownership and responsibility for uptime (and even downtime) can be appropriately managed.
